Companions are breaking many formats, even going in vintage for some! But can companion break Primordial too? Today, we’re working on this BG deck, with Lurrus of the Dream Den!
Lurrus restriction seems difficult to fulfill but this deck does it perfectly! Playing only one and two drops gives you some aggro profile, but in reality you’re a midrange deck that benefits of your low curve to end the game faster! Start by playing Whisper Squad, and your key card,
Serrated Scorpion, two one-drops to gain more time to set up! At second turn, you have five two-drops with deathtouch, to fight against bigger beast easier!
Boot Nipper and the legendary
Chevill, Bane of Monsters will stop them before they hit you! Chevill also provide you card draw, life gain, and a good body against aggro. In the same time, you can set up a combo as early as turn 3 by playing
Fiend Artisan, a sacrifice engine that allow you to fetch more and more creatures, for almost free!
Obviously, your turn three will be Lurrus! But what if your best friend dies? Don’t worry, Call of the Death-Dweller and
Survivors’ Bond got your back, by letting you get him back from the grave!
Need to destroy creatures? You got the best removal in the format, an upgraded Doom Blade, I named
Heartless Act! This instant speed removal can destroy almost everything! For less big threat, I recommend using
Easy Prey or
Dead Weight, with one you can cycle, and the another is replayable using Lurrus!
Because of Lurrus your sideboard is now reduced at seven cards. Wich is not something that will bother you much. You have instant speed protection in Unlikely Aid, a 4th copy of
Dead Weight against aggro. And in case of flood of tokens, a single use of
Extinction Event will clean the battlefield, opening the road to victory!
